Journal: Feedburner and Google
June 2, 2007 10:07 am It was obvious already from last week, but now ufficale ( Google Blog , Blog FeebBurner ).
None of the parties said, because Google bought FeedBurner (for an unofficial figure is about $ 100 million), but some statements go in the direction that I presented in the previous post that I am in the podcast.
Let's look in detail: from Google say they are always looking for new ways to "identify and offer new tools for content creators and website publishers" and "give AdWords advertisers Broader distribution to an even Wider audience of users." I mean to identify (or I prefer to say profiling) users and offer new tools for content creators, as well as finding new land to distribute AdWords (Google's advertising system).
Watchwords in this Google: profile and advertise. Discount for a company now based much of its revenue on advertising targeted and contextualized.
For many, the purchase of FeedBurner will not have the same relevance for the purchase of YouTube (and probably for the sum of which we speak) but from a strategic point of view this acquisition is far more important ... no coincidence that the first item This purchase had gone out already last year, before he referred to the YouTube case.
Now we'll see how Google will integrate its technology into FeedBurner (we only hope that does not render it a useless tool because of the publicity). And we'll also see what the reaction of the network ... that all this desire to profile users are not directed against Google, with a mass exodus of users from services in bigg daily grabs.

I am comfortable with feedburner me as it is .. we truly hope that does not distort (and the service becomes extremely slow, weighed down as a result all the blogs!)
I believe that from a technical standpoint, little will change and perhaps even improve the service, perhaps because they are best installed server, like Google is used to do. There is the fact that for six months the number of companies bought by Google is really impressive ...
Ok, advertising, but here you have all this money to buy a new company (not shacks) every two days ...
Boh
Question: I can not set the language tag in my feed ... How do ?????? :-D
I hope and believe that Feedburner does not change too much!
He is currently a highly used even if the feeds are still a bit 'too something for specialists.
Technically, I see the potential for integration in three areas:
- Google Analytics statistics for joint
- Better support for Feedburner feeds in Google Reader
- Advertising Google AdSense
I hope the publicity does not become compulsory, then led to believe that I would leave Feedburner for my blog would probably many others. Currently I have taken the decision not to allow advertising on its blog feeds in it and I believe essential to allow this choice.
The risk of Feedburner with this acquisition is to lose a number of feeds due to the fact that the "producer" is a direct competitor of Google in other fields.
