If physics explains Palmerini

January 2, 2008 1:15 pm

I picked up today (slowly) my regular activities: work, office, e-mail, listen to podcasts, etc..
Just taking up listening to my favorite podcasts (which I had left open from early December), I finally understood the duality in a concrete mass / energy that I have studied both in college days:

You can read below, but even better, you can go to listen to the episode "New World" by Podkasbaht!

But the first impact with Pondy type is not very spiritual. I arrived thinking I would probably confused by the roads where cars drive on the left, English. that naive, here you drive anywhere! I try to explain better, bringing the traffic ground to the heights of the spirit, with an analogy. when the young physics students deal with quantum physics, one of the things that are difficult to digest is the so-called wave-particle duality. Simply put, all objects smaller children, smaller than an atom, they behave as if they were the same Stemp and wave as if a particle. Yes, it's strange and difficult to understand for everyone, because in our everyday life there is nothing that is "simultaneously" a wave and a particle. think of the waves, sound waves and a ball. properties profoundly different. a ball hits, is still. front of an obstacle rebounds. Instead the wave moves on a "front" face of obstacles and creates interference. hard to imagine something that is both wave and particle. so 'I thought until I came to India. trafficking of Pondicherry is the most accurate representation that comes to mind of the duality between particle and wave nature of subatomic particles. scooters and cars Pondy are both waves and particles. You can count the one by one as if the collisions of particles and, of course, are particles, but the face of obstacles (pedestrians, police or concrete blocks) are not stopped: rather generate interference. Not only that, but just like electrons, neutrons, protons and company, you can not say "at this time the motor is exactly here." rather the position of the motor is defined by a probability distribution, so we can only say what is the probability of finding a motorcycle in a position in a given time. It is not over: If we define with absolute precision the position of the motor at a certain time, we can do just the price of admitting that its speed is infinite, so the motor will be immediately following at any point in space . each motor is actually a cloud of probability that generates interference, collisions and so on. difficult to dodge them, can not understand them. But unlike subatomic particles, the scooters are living in an area of Pondicherry to 5 scale, given by the Euclidean 3-dimensional plus time and a new dimension that distinguishes them clearly from electrons and protons: the sound. scooters of Pondicherry also occupy a space given by the horn sound that are played continuously for any reason. the horn is an advertisement, a warning of danger, but also a greeting, statement of amazement ( "like, you're here in the middle of the road?"), but also a search for truth ( "Who will go first me or you ? ") or a simple leap, just like the familiar" I mean "of Italian teenagers. and then, in doubt, a honk, there is definitely still good.

Not by chance is my favorite podcast! :-)

In our house the word arouses emotions controversial India :-) My stepfather is a regular visitor to that country (as well as a scholar and connoisseur of many aspects of Indian spirituality) ... you will understand well that Francesca is not quite the same view :-D:-D
But when in doubt do ... so I avoid doing a Google search :-) and let the river flow .. see where it takes us!
Best wishes also to all you!
