Mac4Lin ver.1.0: a complete package for transform-linux in Mac OS X

June 15, 2009 6:03 pm

In the past I have already addressed this issue by publishing guides on how to make a desktop based on KDE but VERY VERY similar to Mac-OS X.
Of course required to carry out various operations and take care of the various aspects individually.

Today I propose instead a complete package: Phoenix: Mac4Lin ver.1.0 Released! .
Unfortunately it is only available for the GNOME desktop, like Ubuntu for example, while not function on KDE desktop, such as Ubuntu.

The most interesting aspect is that this package not only deals with changing the desktop and windows to resume the style of the apple, but also various external programs such as Firefox, Thunderbird, and Rhythmbox.

The result is quite good:

Create a backup of your wordpress blog

February 5, 2009 4:39 pm

I often feel the need to have a second copy of the blog, fully synchronized to production, where you can try your changes before you put them on line.

An example is the status update to version 2.7 that I had not yet done so for fear of doing damage.

In the end I decided to create me a second copy of the blog (not accessible to the public) where migration experiment or try out new plugins.

The procedure is certainly not complex, but I thought I'd written it in a clear and simple to be useful at all.

September 3, 2008 6:24 pm
